[Spanish 2, Urgent] Can someone please explain to me the difference between LE and LES? [Thank You so much!]

OpenStudy (gelidium):

I can help you give me time to answer you properly.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sure thing Thank You :)

OpenStudy (gelidium):

When a pronoun takes the place of the name of the indirect object, use the following pronouns: me (me) te (you-familiar) le (him, her, you-formal) nos (us) os (you-all-familiar) les (them, you-all-formal)

OpenStudy (gelidium):

Some examples for you. Juan me compra un regalo. John buys (for) me a gift. Juan te compra un regalo. John buys (for) you a gift. Juan le compra un regalo. John buys (for) her a gift. Juan nos compra un regalo. John buys (for) us a gift. Juan os compra un regalo. John buys (for) you-all (familiar) a gift. Juan les compra un regalo. John buys (for) them a gift.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is there any way to explain that in like sentence form? Like "The difference between LE and LES is that..."

OpenStudy (gelidium):

Le and les are indirect pronouns to refer someone. Le is singular used for él and ella. Les is plural form used for ellos and ustedes.

Thank you so much! and to fill in the question mark put (El, Ella, Usted) correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

El, Usted*

OpenStudy (gelidium):

You are right el,ella, usted use le.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you :)

OpenStudy (gelidium):
