Calculate the moles of magnesium that reacted. Lab results: mass of beaker:41.9293 g mass of magnesium: .8712 g mass of beaker and magnesium chloride after hot plate: 42.9318 g mass of beaker and magnesium chloride after heating: 42.4513 g We added 10-15 mL of 3.0 M HCL until no more magnesium remained unreacted. Put beaker onto hotplate and allowed product to dry. then but into drying oven overnight. Took out the beaker and set up a ring and wire gauze. Put the beaker on the wire guaze with a bunsen burner underneath. Heated the beaker until no liquid remains and then let cool.
