You move one figure (rigid motion) and make it overlap the second figure exactly to prove that the two figures are congruent.

Ok.
OpenStudy (aum):
When two figures are congruent it means they have identical shapes and sizes. They may just differ int their spacial orientation but otherwise they are identical figures. So to prove their congruence you move one figure (rigid motion) and make it overlap the second figure exactly.
Rigid motion means there is no stretching or contraction of the body when it is moved from one location to another. That is, the distance between ANY two points on the body remains the same during movement.

Is that it?
