Hi everyone, new to this website hope I did this right. Write the equation y - 4 = -2(x - 5) in slope-intercept form.
Welcome to OpenStudy! Slope-intercept form looks like y = mx+b So just isolate y and simplify. Do you know what to do?
So to isolate Y I would add 4 to the other side correct?
that's right. and you also need to distribute -2 to (x-5)
just to be clear, add BOTH sides by 4.
after distributing I got y = 2x-10. Is that correct?
y -4 = -2x+10 don't forgot to distribute negative sign too
now add both sides by 4
I got y = -2x + 14. Do I add the 4 to the -2x as well?
no, because these terms are unlike. So you are good: y = -2x + 14
So is that the answer?
yep
Ok thank you so much, I noticed people ask for "medals" when they answer a question. So how would I go about giving that to you?
sure if you want
some are just medal grabber haha
Lol, so how would i do that?
