10/25

An item sells for $75 after a 50% discount. Find the original price.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you show me how to do it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For the first one, you take 10 dollars and divide it by 25 dollars.\[\frac{ 10 }{ 25 }=0.4\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

0.4 = 40%

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

say for example from $25 to $10. the original price was $25, it decreased to $10 so if we use the original price to say it be, the 100% we start from then we could say \(\bf \begin{array}{ccllll} quantity&\% \\\hline\\ 25&100\\ 10&x \end{array}\implies \cfrac{25}{10}=\cfrac{100}{x}\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Now for the second one, you can take 75 and multiply it by two, because 50% means half off.

I have another question do you want me to open another post?

OpenStudy (anonymous):
