OpenStudy (anonymous):

How would I solve 16x(x-2)=8x-25. So far I have 16x^2-32x=8x-25

OpenStudy (anonymous):

don't know

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have to solve by factoring, by the way

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first you multiply the terms in parentheses by 16x, which leaves you 16x^2-32=8x-25, then you go on from there to combine like terms leaving you 16x^2=8x-57

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHH!!! I get it now.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

at least I think

OpenStudy (anonymous):

after that you need to move 8x-57 to the other side which gives you 16x^2-8x+57, then you go on from there

OpenStudy (anonymous):

my bad i mad a mistake, it's not -57 it's7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it should be 16x^2-8x+7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

THEN I can factor!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I was stuck on the first part

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i made another mistake, it's not+7, it's -7, so it should be 16x^2-8x-7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it should give you (2x-1)(8x-7), and there you go

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am not sure about trusting caesarjua because he corrected himself so many times

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You have to solve for x right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is right, i check my work man
