please help me, been stuck..will fan and medal...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Complete the table below to solve the equation 2.5x – 10.5 = 64(0.5x). x f(x)= 2.5x – 10.5 g(x) = 64(0.5x) 2 3 4 5 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ignore the question marks

OpenStudy (dangerousjesse):

Refresh and they'll go away :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

f(x)=2.5x-10.5 g(x)=64(0.5^x)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2 f(2)=2.5(2)-10.5 g(2)=64(0.5(2))

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's for the second line. then you do the same thing for the rest

OpenStudy (here_to_help15):

Well first omplete the table below to solve the equation 2.5x – 10.5 = 64(0.5x).? x f(x) = 2.5x – 10.5 g(x) = 64(0.5x) 2 -5.5 64 3 -2.5 96 4 -0.5 128 I think there is no solution for x > 0 0 -10.5 0 0.1 0.2 -0.3556 -11.3898 -11.3898 Let us try algebra. 2.5x – 10.5 = 64(0.5x) = 32x or 29.5x = -10.5 or x = -10.5/29.5 = -.03556

OpenStudy (here_to_help15):

complete

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you just copied and pasted that from yahoo answers

OpenStudy (here_to_help15):

yeah lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

rip in pepperonies to me

OpenStudy (here_to_help15):

but im busy so that will be the last time i do that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You just need to plug the number on the left in for the functions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well thats the problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what's the problem? you take the numbers on the left and put them in for x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the left column is the same thing but with like...f(3)? @wrstlr3232

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and then i just solve for the right side?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

solve whats on the left for the right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 3 2.5(3)-10.5 g(3)=64(0.5^(3))

OpenStudy (anonymous):

correct. so if you look at here to help's answer for 2, he has -5.5. f(2)=2.5(2)-10.5=-5.5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@wrstlr3232 read that latest message please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So, g(x)=64(0.5^x) turns into g(3)=64(0.5^3). Yes, you want f(3) for f(x) in there. I spaced it off when writing it. It makes things look nicer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is this right @wrstlr3232

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Looks good. you want f(3)=2.5... Sorry, I should have explained that better. You may need to solve them too. It all depends on your teacher/book.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks a lot!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No problem. I love functions!
