Mathematics 7 Online
OpenStudy (anonymous):

Explain why x + 7 = x + 6 has no solution while the solution set of the equation x + 7 = x + 7 contains all real numbers

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

if you draw graphs you will see if you draw graphs of x + 7 and x + 7 its really one line superimposed on another and the solution are all points on that line - infinite

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

what do you think the lines y = x+6 and y = x = 7 will look like

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

will they ever cross each other?

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

for x + 6 to be equal to x +7 they must cross at some point or points

It would go straight diagnolly, I don't understand what you're trying to say here :O

OHHHH. For some reason my teacher didn't teach us that part but I remembered from Algebra 2 about real numbers and domain and range. Thank you so much!
