I need help setting up these equations

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which equations?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I can solve them once I know how to set them up but I'm not sure how to do that exactly

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first find out how long it take you to go 1 mile you know you can go 2 miles in 15, so im sure you can figure out how long it takes to go 1 mile

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Once you find how long it takes you to go 1 mile, simply multiply that by the total amount of miles and walah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

7.5 mins

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you are trying to find out how long is going to take you to run the marathon, , if you can run 2 miles in 15 mins., you have to divide the mins by it's half, so it would be 7.5, 7.5x=26 is your equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok thanks!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh my bad, the equation is 7.5x, then you have to multiply it by 26

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you get 195 mins, so that's your answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The equation is 1(mile)/7.5(minutes) = 26(miles)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If the marathon is 26 miles and they already tell us how long it took her to run 2 then wouldn't it be 24?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it would be 3 hours and 15 mins

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1410113623971:dw|, x would be the amount of miles, x=miles, 7.5 mins is the time

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh I see now gotcha
