What is the converse of, "If an angle is 123 degrees, then it is obtuse"?

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

the converse of if \(A\) then \(B\) is if \(B\) then \(A\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, but if you were to say, "If an angle is obtuse, then it is 123 degrees," it would be wrong. Would it be phrased, "If an angle measures 123 degrees, then it may be obtuse"?

OpenStudy (xapproachesinfinity):

well there not asking if it is wrong or not. just do the converse!

OpenStudy (xapproachesinfinity):

P then Q the converse is Q then P. doesn't matter if it true or not

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

i.e. the statement is true, but its converse is not So we can think of it as an if/then statement but NOT a if and only if statement.

Ok. Thank you.
