How to find Theoretical yield for this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is the answer 1.83g? but im doubting his since my yield is super low, around 0.2g and one of my TA said yield is <1g so im so confused.

OpenStudy (cuanchi):

i think you are correct, assuming the trifluoroacetic is in excess and the limitant of the reaction is the amount of pyrrole, with 750mg of pyrrole (MM 67.09 g/mol) you can not get more than 1.823g of the trifluoroacethylpyrrol (MM 163.106 g/mol) in your theoretical yield. If in your lab you got only 0.2g your recovery was about 10% pf the theoretical yield.

thank you :) I thought I was calculating it wrong.. haha
