@Yeseniiaaa
um None of the answers are correct. The French declaration of war against Austria is well documented and archived event and was about solving internal issue within the France. Austrian Emperor, the brother of Marie Antoinette, Leopold II just died in March 1. 1792. Austria was still in middle of the national mourning and even did not had official head of the state crowned, the Francis II (he was crowned in July 14 as an emperor). Louis XVI was in the middle of the major domestic crisis. His popularity waned as a result of his unsuccessful flight to Varennes and wanted to either to boost his popularity or turned away an attention from ongoing political upheaval in France. The revolutionaries hoped that the war with Austria will show up true color of the emperor, while Girondist (the dominant political force at that time in France) hoped that war would reveal the enemies of the Revolution within the France. Nothing better could happen than attacking the country in the middle of the national mourning and transition. France declared a war on Austria on April 20, signed by assembly and king. Austria was puzzled and also inquired if the declaration was meant to be real by sending envoys to Paris. Vienna issued counter declaration of war against France in July 5, 1792.
