how would I write P is directly proportional to W squared as a variation equation

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

"directly proportional" means that as W goes up, P goes up as W goes down, P goes down

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

if we just said "P is directly proportional to W", then P = k*W for some constant k

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

but W is squared, so the actual equation is \[\Large P = k*W^2\]
