What would most likely be included in the “Analysis” section of a lab report?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is where you analyze your data. Aren't there questions in the lab report to answer? This is where you would usually have lab questions that you would answer based on your data. This is also where you state if your hypothesis was correct or incorrect.

@selfishlollies : You've got it down correctly. The convention has normally been to use the Analysis section for 3 things. 1) You would calculate values BASED upon the readings you have taken in the Lab. For example, if you have observed that 45cm^3 of 1M HCL neutralizes 50 cm^3 of Substance X of unknown molarity, you would calculate the unknown molarity here. 2) Furthermore, you would use these values to REINFORCE or DISCARD your hypothesis, based upon the values you get. 3) Lastly, you would also include FEEDBACK i.e : What could be improved? Could I have used a control? Could I have used more readings? You would also note down the Errors encountered, as in "Error of +-0.4s in reading of oscillation due to string entanglement", and whatnot. Hope this helps you, =swas Conventionally, when it comes to schools, you most typically respond to the questions set down by your teacher/book in the lab report.
