1. Draw two water molecules in a way that illustrates a hydrogen bond 2. How many hydrogen bonds can a single molecule of water can form with other water molecules in ice

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is the answer to the first part just|dw:1410646785544:dw| or is it something else?

OpenStudy (aaronq):

How is the bond polarize? what atoms carry partial positive charges? which carry partial negative charges?

OpenStudy (aaronq):

polarized**

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hydrogen is +1 and Oxygen is -2. It is polar because the molecule is bent.

OpenStudy (aaronq):

hm well i meant in terms of partial charges due to electronegativity not the formal charges of the atoms. But it's the same concept. Now would an atom of O (that carries a partial negative charge) rather associate with another O atom from another molecule or with an H atom from another molecule?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

H?
