What's the difference between apomixis and parthenocarpy?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Google it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I wish I could hand out medals for worst responses as well

OpenStudy (idek-ok):

"In Parthenocarpy, fruit is produced without the fertilization of ovules, in plants. This results in 'seedless' varieties of fruiting bodies. In parthenocarpy, there is chance of sexual reproduction, but the plant can reproduce through vegitative means. Apomictically produced offspring are genetically identical to the parent plant. Replacement of the seed by a plantlet, or replacement of the flower by bulbils are types of apomixis Apomixis is therefore a type of parthenocarpy which involve the sexual parts of plants, but does not include the reproduction of plants via grafting or vegitative propagation."

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

someone did google it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But he was also able to explain it and put it across in a concise and comprehensible manner.
