OpenStudy (kittykitty04):

I have 2.248g of Cd dissolved in HCl [3.00]M. The volume I got to dissolve Cd is 6.67mL (please let me know if that's wrong). When excess Na2S is added to the reaction, CdS precipitates. What is the mass of CdS to be obtained? I feel so lost! can someone please explain??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

all of the Cd dissolved in HCl?

OpenStudy (kittykitty04):

yes. the sample of Cd dissolved in HCl

OpenStudy (anonymous):

calculate moles of Cd. when u add excess Na2S,Cd is limiting agent. moles of Na2S equal moles of Cd then calculate mass of percipitae.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

got it?

OpenStudy (kittykitty04):

Hmmm I think so. I'll try and see what I get. Thank you! ^_^

i'll hope it's help you
