OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do mitochondria and chloroplast have in common?

OpenStudy (tanya123):

They both contain DNA, are membrane-bound organelles located in the cytoplasm of cells, they are both involved in the production of energy (chloroplasts make glucose, which can be used by the mitochondria to make ATP), and they are found in eukaryotic cells (not in all eukaryotic cells, but the cells they are in are eukaryotic). Since they contain their own DNA, they support the endosymbiotic theory. They can also divide independently of the cell.
