Find three consecutive odd integers such that their sum is five more than four times the largest integer.

First thing to do is to give the 2 unknowns labels. If the first odd number is x, then the next one in line is x + 2. The next one after that is x + 4. Then it says that their sum (so you are adding them) is 5 more than (you are adding 5) than 4 times (you are multiplying) the largest integer (which we labeled x + 4). So as far as I can tell, your equation would look like this: x + (x + 2) + (x + 4) = 4(x + 4) + 5

OpenStudy (imstuck):

sorry...that's 3 unknowns, not 2. I said 2 up above and it should be 3.
