the equation of a line that intercepts the x- axis at x=2 is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What's the ordered pair of an x-intercept? (i.e. You know the x-coordinate of this point, but what is the y-coordinate of any point on the x-axis?)

x=2,y=0 or (2,0)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes (sorry for very late response). Point slope form is \[y-y_1=m(x-x_1)\] where m is the slope. If you plug in your point for (x1,y1) and simplify you can get an equation for every line through (2,0). You can plug in any value for m and it will go through (2,0) -- try graphing some with different slopes once you get the equation, if you want to.
