the equation of a line is y= mx + b if m and b are the same in another equation, then that other equation is the *same* equation. It should be clear. if you had y= 2x +3 and another equation with the same slope (=2) and same intercept (=3) you have the equation y= 2x+3 (the same thing) the solution for two equations (which are the equations of lines) is where the lines cross. if you have the same equation they don't "cross" but they do lie on top of each other. We can think of that as matching *everywhere* and you have lots of solutions (an infinite number)
