PLEASE HELP!! A typist types at a rate of 50 words/minute. Write a direct variation equation (w=m*t) that relates the number of words (w) to the time (t) in minutes
Since he is typing 50 words in 1 minute, he will be able to type 100 words in 2 minutes, yes ?
@ganeshie8 yes...
so how many words can he type in 3 minutes ?
@ganeshie8 he can type 150 words
Excellent! how many words can he type in 10 minutes ?
see the pattern ? why dont we just say : he can type "50*t" words in "t" minutes
so the required direct variation relation is simply : w = 50t
@ganeshie8 he can type 500 words in 10 minutes. Yes I can see the pattern, it's adding 50 words for every minute. So that's the equation? The question is a bit confusing how they word it. Thank you so much for helping me, I really appreciate it! :)
np :) and yes ` w = 50t ` is the required equation
|dw:1411514112240:dw| would this be the graph?
