help would be appreciated :)
OpenStudy (amistre64):
how do we determine a slope between 2 points?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
rise / run ?
OpenStudy (amistre64):
yep

also known as (change in y)/(change in x)
OpenStudy (amistre64):
can we narrow the options any? are there some that are jsut NOT going to work?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
maybe the 2nd and last one because theres no point to rise and run too?
OpenStudy (amistre64):
well, the second one is bad for a different reason, the last one is a possible good option
OpenStudy (amistre64):
the third one, as x gets bigger, y gets smaller. we cant increase by 4 if we are decreasing ... can we?/

nope
OpenStudy (amistre64):
then we need to test the first and last options
the first one can be formula checked: the last one can be counted to chk
OpenStudy (anonymous):
ok so it the y on the first one itwould be 1 - ( -11)? and for x it would be 6 - 3?
OpenStudy (amistre64):
that looks good to me
OpenStudy (amistre64):
so, 12/3 gets us ....

4?
OpenStudy (amistre64):
yes
now to test the last one
OpenStudy (anonymous):
im not sure how to get points on a graph to use the formula
OpenStudy (amistre64):
well, we can try to find where the line hits a crossing
2,0 and 4,8 look like hits
OpenStudy (anonymous):
oh okay so 0 -2 and 8 -4 would be -2 / 4 ?

OpenStudy (amistre64):
x:2-4 and y:0-8
y/x = -8/-2
OpenStudy (anonymous):
4
OpenStudy (amistre64):
then the last one works for us too
OpenStudy (anonymous):
is there any other ones?
OpenStudy (amistre64):
well, out of 4 options, 2 are bad .... and the other 2 are good. sooo, im going to say thats all there is to test out
