OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Do you know the conversion for USD to Euros?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1.3687 euros = 1 US dollar, yes sorry about that.

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Ok so you will want to divide 3500 by 1.3687

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

I am seeing that .78 euros = 1 USD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

On my question it's gives us that, I know I searched it up and it's different

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

ok then use 1.3687 if that is what they say

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4790.45 then round and got 4790

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

do you have answer choices?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No I do not

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

@agent0smith would you divide or multiply here? I am questioning myself now.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you can give me a tutorial, i've failed this pre-test 3 times already I only have 1 more retake, I want to learn how to do a few more problems if you don't mind

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

you got 4790 by doing 3500/1.3687?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh sorry, I multiplied 3500 by 1.3687

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2557

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

\(\cal\large\color{limegreen}{correct~~\huge\ddot\smile}\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You never answered my question, about if you can give me a tutorial on a few other problems

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry if that sounded rude

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

I can try but I would have to see them first.

Jackrabbits are capable of reaching speeds up to 40 miles per hour. How fast is this in feet per second? (Round to the nearest whole number.)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

While traveling to Europe, Phelan exchanged 250 US dollars for euros. He spent 150 euros on his trip. After returning to the United States he converts his money back to US dollars. How much of the original 250 US dollars does Phelan now have?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just with those 2 for now :) I don't wanna spam the chat

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Feet per second = Miles per hour/.6818

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Can you get the first one with that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Let's say we were doing this on paper, how would you find feet per second?

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

you would do 40/.6818

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok, how'd you get .6818 is what im trying to say

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

That is the unit conversion formula.

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Or I can show you how to do it another way if you want?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

58.66

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Round it to 59

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Another way would be to do 40*5280 (feet in a mile) gives you feet per hour 211200 211200/60 (minutes in an hour) gives you feet per minute 3520 3520/60 (seconds in a minute) gives you feet per second 58.666666...≈59

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

If you have to explain it then the second way would probably be better.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohh, okay makes a bit more sense. Well, the answer I put a while back was 58.67 and I got it incorrect

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Would it be due to not rounding?

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Possibly but I am not sure if they want it rounded up or not.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well the question says to round to the nearest whole
