Calculus question!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

what is the degree of the numerator?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

10

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

how about for the denominator?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

since (degree of numerator) > (degree of denominator) this means that you will NOT have a horizontal asymptote instead, you'll have an oblique asyptote

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

asymptote* so basically this asymptote will be slanted or diagonal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks(:

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

the only time you have a horizontal asymptote is when a) degree of numerator = degree of denominator OR b) degree of numerator < degree of denominator
