Give an example in which gravity slows down a moving object and an example in which gravity speeds up a moving object.

OpenStudy (mrnood):

have you ever thrown a ball into the air? have you ever dropped a stone off a bridge?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

throwing the ball into the air is the example of it speeding up?

OpenStudy (mrnood):

does it keep on going (faster)? - or does it stop and come back again?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It keeps on going, so naturally the example of throwing it into the air is having it speed up? Thanks!

OpenStudy (mrnood):

What are you ON? or is this a wind up?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

.-.

OpenStudy (mrnood):

throw a ball up in the air - catch it when it comes back down. Did it STOP at the top?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I suppose you could say that it stopped for a moment at the top.

OpenStudy (mrnood):

so - when it stopped was it SLOWER then when you threw it - or faster?

OpenStudy (mrnood):

take it from there....I've given you enough.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks... yep. thanks.
