About what?

Does that fraction equals a negative whole or just a whole ?

geerky42 (geerky42):

Negative whole. Because of you multiply numerator and denominator by -1, you would get \(\dfrac{-1}{1}\). \(\dfrac{1}{-1}~=~1\cdot\dfrac{1}{-1}~=~\dfrac{-1}{-1}\cdot\dfrac{1}{-1}~ = ~\dfrac{-1}{1}\) Divide anything by 1 won't do anything, so \(\dfrac{-1}{1}=-1\) So that's why \(\dfrac{1}{-1} = -1\)

geerky42 (geerky42):

Is this clear?

Thank you
