Solve the system of equations by graphing. -1/3x + y = –1 y = 4 + 1/3x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Infinitely many solutions

Nnesha (nnesha):

first you have to solve first equation for y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No solution

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No solution.

Nnesha (nnesha):

its parallel because you have same slope so its no solution

Nnesha (nnesha):

first graph look right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry about it being so confusing @Nnesha. The way they are set on the test it's hard to tell what's A. B. C. and D. There's also this option too I'm about to upload.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is actually A. I believe.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I appreciate you'r help. =)

Nnesha (nnesha):

graph look right and its no solution

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you!

Nnesha (nnesha):

is that a review test or real test

Nnesha (nnesha):

i'm asking this because someone told me that test question are not allowed here :(

Nnesha (nnesha):

anyways you welcome :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's homework I'm trying to understand. =)

Nnesha (nnesha):

you good :) i was just conforming :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry to bother you. Just to be sure @Nnesha you think it's the first one I uploaded at the very top?

Nnesha (nnesha):

graph is first one right but its no solution its not infinitely many solution

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, okay.

Nnesha (nnesha):

you post two pic same can you post you answer choices again

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sure,

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Infinitely many solutions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No solution

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No solution

Nnesha (nnesha):

2nd one is answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay thank you again!

Nnesha (nnesha):

my pleasure :)

Nnesha (nnesha):

just a little bit explain because both equation have 1/3x same slope so its parallel and because slope is positive +1/3x so line are increases not decreases hope you understand
