2 - Calling a tongue a dialect implies that it is derived from and subordinated to a more formal language. As students will notice at once, dialect and local color play no clear part in the humor of this story. Some say that the distinction is one of mutual intelligibility: dialects are mutually understandable, languages are not.
13.C
11-The word "rum" is used over 70 times in Treasure Island. The only fun thing the pirates ever do together is drink. This reliance on alcohol also proves to be their undoing. Because they are all stone drunk their first night on the island, no one notices when Ben Gunn sneaks up and kills one of them. And who wants to imitate both Billy Bones and Israel Hands, so desperate for a shot of hard liquor after their injuries that they will promise Jim anything to get it? Rum becomes another means of symbolizing the moral weakness and lack of discipline among the pirates.

11 cant be C because Irrationality is cognition, thinking, talking or acting without inclusion of rationality. It is more specifically described as an action or opinion given through inadequate use of reason, emotional distress, or cognitive deficiency. so i think its C

Actually its Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum and its from Robert Louis Stevenson's novel Treasure Island (1883), Stevenson only wrote this chorus: “Fifteen men on a dead man's chest Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum Drink and the devil had done for the rest Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum.” Stevenson's rhyme appears in Chapter 1 on page ten and is repeated throughout the novel. Stevenson intended the verse to be a forewarning of looming events in his story. In the novel the sailors sing about a dead man's chest before the adventure begins and almost all are dead by the end of it. In the 1500's, Dead Man's Chest was a pirate meeting place in the Caribbean where Stevenson set the scene for Treasure Island. "Bottle of rum" alludes to the continuous drinking by the pirates. "Dead man's chest" may refer to Captain Flint's hidden dead body on Treasure Island. The poem written by Young E. Allison (1853-1932), of Louisville in 1891 extended Stevenson's verse. He published his poem in the Louisville Courier-Journal describing the fate of the crew on a ship wrecked on the infamous Dead Man's Chest, a reef close to the island of Tortola in the eastern Caribbean, in the British Virgin Islands. The poem is about a ship found adrift at sea. The crew have all killed each other and left behind a ship loaded with booty. The discoverers of this shipwreck tossed the dead overboard with a Yo-Heave-Ho and a fare-thee-well and took the spoils for themselves. Yo heave ho is a seaman's chant designed to coordinate the crew on rowing or sailing chores in an effort to have them pulling together on the word “heave”. Allison retells the story with more detail. The song was used by several professional musical organizations, particularly the Roger Wagner Chorale cassette tape called SEA CHANTIES (RW 029-C). A.L.Ekstrom of Sausalito, CA. from the early San Francisco shanty days performed an accurate version of the tune. “Derelict“ AKA: “Fifteen Men on the Dead Man's Chest” "Dead Man's Chest" "Fifteen Men" "Bottle of Rum" The mate was fixed by the bosun's pike bosun brained with a marlinspike And cookey's throat was marked belike It had been gripped by fingers ten; And there they lay, all good dead men Like break o'day in a boozing ken Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum. Fifteen men of the whole ship's list Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum! Dead and be damned and the rest gone whist! Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum! The skipper lay with his nob in gore Where the scullion's axe his cheek had shore And the scullion he was stabbed times four And there they lay, and the soggy skies Dripped down in up-staring eyes In murk sunset and foul sunrise Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum. Fifteen men of 'em stiff and stark Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum! Ten of the crew had the murder mark! Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum! Twas a cutlass swipe or an ounce of lead Or a yawing hole in a battered head And the scuppers' glut with a rotting red And there they lay, aye, damn my eyes Looking up at paradise All souls bound just contrawise Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum. Fifteen men of 'em good and true Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum! Ev'ry man jack could ha' sailed with Old Pew, Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum! There was chest on chest of Spanish gold With a ton of plate in the middle hold And the cabins riot of stuff untold, And they lay there that took the plum With sightless glare and their lips struck dumb While we shared all by the rule of thumb, Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum! More was seen through a sternlight screen... Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum Chartings undoubt where a woman had been Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum. 'Twas a flimsy shift on a bunker cot With a dirk slit sheer through the bosom spot And the lace stiff dry in a purplish blot Oh was she wench or some shudderin' maid That dared the knife and took the blade By God! she had stuff for a plucky jade Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum. Fifteen men on a dead man's chest Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum Drink and the devil had done for the rest Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum. We wrapped 'em all in a mains'l tight With twice ten turns of a hawser's bight And we heaved 'em over and out of sight, With a Yo-Heave-Ho! and a fare-you-well And a sudden plunge in the sullen swell Ten fathoms deep on the road to hell, Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum!
