Whats supposed to be underlined in that sentence?

hibernating for the winter.

and then

OpenStudy (one098):

Okay.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Continuing to stir the soup

OpenStudy (one098):

Okay, first of all, a participle is a word formed from a verb. Ex. going, gone, being, been.. So in those two sentences, having the participles underlined, do you think they are correctly place or not ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im sorry i dont get it

OpenStudy (one098):

Lol, ok so in the first one, the present verb of hibernating is hibernate, right? So, do you think that it is correctly placed in the sentence? And the same for the second one.. The verb, stir, is in present tense, so for that one, its not correctly placed. Try the first one.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the first one is incorrect

OpenStudy (anonymous):

placed

OpenStudy (one098):

Exactly! Good job @jpharper
