okay i know this is the math section but is there anyone good in history to help with some questions? it seems to be no one online there...
Depends what questions?
US history maybe? i'm in a law and order class @sophietrophie97
I'm in AP US History sooo I might be able to help.
ok i've mastered one of the questions i just need help with maybe like 2 or 3, want me to paste them here? @sophietrophie97
Yeah
ok here is one: Many people speak quite heatedly about the condition of our country—its laws, its leaders, and its economy. A high portion of these vocal dissenters do not vote themselves. If they do not vote, should they be allowed to complain about how the government functions? Why or why not? What responsibilities do these people have to the government? What freedoms do they enjoy? @sophietrophie97
yes they should be allowed to complain, they are protected by the us constitution, freedom of speech
they have no responsibilities other then to abide by the law
Well, to begin the people have the freedom to speak quite heatedly about the problems. Morally, if they do not vote, they shouldn't complain BUT it is a right, and they are entitled.
make sure you put what amendment it is in there
Their responsibilities are to abide by the laws, as he said, nothing more. You're not obligated, as a citizen, to vote unless you want something changed.
i took law already btw
they are looking for you to put what amendment it is and for it to be explained
ok thanks sorry my internet keeps going out idk why >.<
want me to put the 2nd question now?
yeah & np
You and your classmates are divided into four groups that govern your entire school. Each group has a different function but all groups are of equal importance. The time comes when your school needs a new law, and each group has as much to gain or lose as the others. Each group wants their version of the new law to be the one made into effect. Your school government does not have a “Supremacy Clause.” Discuss why developing one is important to the success of your school government, and then write a short clause.
The Supremacy Clause is the provision in Article Six, Clause 2 of the United States Constitution that establishes the United States Constitution, federal statutes, and treaties as "the supreme law of the land". It provides that these are the highest form of law in the United States legal system, and mandates that all state judges must follow federal law when a conflict arises between federal law and either a state constitution or state law of any state. this is important because no matter how heated things can become there our boundaries and boundaries protect the people of the school and the school as a whole. This is important for success because if not, the school can split 4 ways, things can become the wild west and people can go against each other. So the four will have to follow the law, maybe they will have to pass a vote, and that vote will have to go through other officials, and then be passed.
ok great, would i have to put an amendment on this one paragraph or im fine? @MIA305DT
you should, they will like that
okay thanks and i have one last question and then i'll be done
Libby, a sophomore at a small rural high school, has dreams of becoming a journalist. However, her school lacks the funding for a school newspaper. Libby talks to her parents, her English teacher, and a few friends also interested in journalism, and then forms her own paper. Her parents agree to fund the printing costs of the paper, if Libby shows she is serious about the project. She and her friends work exceptionally hard and release the first issue, and everyone is impressed. It features articles about school athletes, academics, the arts programs, and an interview with Libby’s English teacher on the benefits of reading newspapers. Libby and her friends are then brought before the school board for releasing an unauthorized publication on school grounds. (Libby hadn’t known she needed permission to produce a newspaper.) Libby, her English teacher, and her parents argue that punishing the students involved violates their First Amendment rights. Discuss both Libby and the school board’s positions. Back up your positions with the cases outlined in this unit and with the Amendments mentioned.
17th amendment for thew before this one
Okay so here is where this is tricky about the first amendment, If this causes a disturbance in the school, you can get in trouble for it, entering school property becomes a new game, you are not on public property, a restaurant owner can kick you out of his place if you come in saying that you like orange and you hate whoever else likes orange, yeah freedom of speech but he can kick you out. Usually schools have this long handbook they give you stating the rules and disturbance is one of them. IF it caused a student to be off task that is a disturbance. It needs to be passed by the school board.
ok thanks soooo much! this really helped @MIA305DT!
thanks @sophietrophie97 for helping me too! <33
np it can be tricky if your not into it, if you like law then things are just easy to understand when your taking the class
yeah its very difficult for me im just now starting :[
choose classes that you will be into, if not, your going to suck at it haha
