In the context of the Nature vs. Nurture discussion of development... If knowledge and acuity are a combination of genetic raw materials and environmental opportunities (education), should children be told their IQs? Would knowing be better or worse for a child's development? Would it even matter? @amistre64 @zepdrix @dan815 @iambatman @mathslover @Destinymasha @nincompoop @johnweldon1993 @adrynicoleb @aum @sammixboo @camerondoherty @acxbox22 @Skyz @dan815 @HelpBlahBlahBlah @thadyoung @Secret-Ninja @fateal @BassCatcher15 @sleepyhead314 @gr @taffalousswagg_bru
I hve never read any context named Nature vs Nature, so I am not sure And please no mass tagging like that =D Thanks
Yes, please refrain from tagging more than 10 people at once ^_^ as for the question... it can be debated greatly. for example if the child was told they had a low IQ, then they would either accept their fate and not try anymore therefore causing their IQ to go down further. while perhaps another child will strive to try to increase their IQ seeing the lowness as how much they still have left to grow. same with high IQs... some will just be smug and stop studying thinking they're the smartest. while others will do their best to maintain their high IQ. so of course it would make a difference... but for the better or worse is up for debate. hope this helped a little ^_^
Might want to try in Social Sciences.
Yes you would get better help there.
There is a long term study that applies... ticks... ants... something like that. Let me see if I remember.
The termites: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lewis_Terman They were humans, not critters.
iqs are supposed to be kept confidential and only the person with the iq should know it really does depend on the person on how they perceive of their scores
how do you know them?
http://openstudy.com/study#/groups/Social%20Sciences I can talk more about the Termites there and some flaws in the study.
well if you take the test, you will know
from where?? jw...
