How do you graph a function? the question is f(x) = 1/2 x - 2. but I would really like to know how to for other problems
Alright, that's in slope-intercept form. 1/2 is the slope and -2 is the y-intercept. All you have to do is put in any value for x and graph two points based of the slope. So lets make x=0 you'll graph (0,-2) and use the slope 1/2 to find the next point. Remember that the slope is rise (moving on the y-axis) over run (moving on the x-axis). So 1/2 means you go up a and over to the right 2.
I go up 1 and over to the right 2?
Mhm Sorry I just realized I had a typo in there :/

Yes
alright sweet I think I understand ho to do this now
yea that's what I was trying to do
I use the program geogebra for graphing, makes it a lot easier to do questions like this.
