two angels are supplementary if their sum is 180 degrees. The larger angle measures 6 degrees more than twice the measure of a smaller angle. If X represents the measure of the smaller number and these two angles are supplementary, find the measure of each angle ?????

Draw it out like this, it will make more sense:

ok so where do i even start? im lost

OpenStudy (imstuck):

Can you solve that for x or no?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not really ...... i have someone who tutors me during homework and they have not been available this section and I am at a loss, I dont remember NOTHING when it comes to this stuff

Then finally divide both sides by 3.

Look them over step by step. Not too bad. If x is 58, then the measure of the larger angle, 2x+6, is the same as 2(58)+6, which is 122. The larger angle is 122 and the smaller one is 58. 58+122 better equal 180. Does it? Yes, it does, so we're good!

omg, thank you SO much!

OpenStudy (imstuck):

You are so very welcome!

OpenStudy (imstuck):

TY for the medal!
