Modern migration is largely attributed to war and/or political factors. Choose two migrations discussed in the lecture and explain the historic causes behind the groups’ migrations. @ManImStumped @Edge
anyone???
It would help if we knew what migrations you discussed in class, but, hence, we do not, and, in turn, can not help you unless you deem it right to enlighten us.
asia africa and europe migrations that is all they said of what it is about
??
Oh sorry, got sidetracked. I would think that you could discuss the recent turmoil in Russia. And talk of migration from Russia, or from Ukraine,
as the borders have become dangerous, they are in a war zone, and lives are hard to live.
Or from places like Afghanistan to Pakistan because of terrorists and stuff. Pakistan takes millions of refugees every year.
Or even Mexico to America. We always here of that. Because of opportunity, jobs, and to move away from cartels that deal in drugs/human trafficking.
Does that help for some options?
I just found this link which may help - http://science.howstuffworks.com/life/evolution/human-migration5.htm
kinda
Alright, then moving on, the historic causes. The one for Russia/Ukraine is likely the easiest.
It can date back to WWII and the Cold War, when Stalin used Ukraine for their food and made millions starve to death, making them weak economically & politically.
Now, people are leaving Ukraine cause it has become a warzone, with Putin taking what he wants with his larger army and better arms.
got it thanks
you helped a ton
No prob. Glad to be of service :)
[Students may discuss one of the following migrations or any other historic migration: 1) World War II: Jewish population – resettlement; 2) The Vietnam War: large numbers of Vietnamese moved to United States; 3) End of colonial empires/imperialism in Africa: Algerians moved to France; 4) The fall of the Soviet Union and the Eastern Bloc: migration for jobs and reunion with family]
