Which ordered pairs are solutions to the inequality 2x + y > –4 (choose all answers that are correct) (–3, 0) (–1, –1) (4, –12) (0, 1) (5, –12)

Plug in each ordered pair until you get one that's true

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Let's do them together. So the first point is (-3,0) So by plugging it into the given equation it should look like: \[2(-3)+0>-4\] distribute the 2 into the parenthesis to give you : \[-6>-4\] this one is false because -6 is less than -4, not greater than. So you can eliminate this answer. Try the next one and I'll help you through it if you need help, or get stuck
