I don't get what i'm doing wrong. Please help!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-5(3-q)+4=5q-11

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got -5q=5q

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

(-15+5q)+4=5q-11

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

-15+5q=5q-15

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

5q=5q

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

I get -15 +5q +4 = 5q -11 5q -11 = 5q -11 basically it boils down to 0=0 and what you have -5Q = 5Q becomes 10Q = 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay thanks!

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

You are welcome.

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

I think that when you multiplied on the left side, you might have calculated -5 * -q as -5q. It should be 5q.

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

@wolf1728 5q-11=5q-11 Add 11 on both sides. 5q=5q

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh yeah probably.. I sometimes get confused with the subtraction signs and negative signs

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

(-)x(-)=+

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

You still tried wolf1728. You deserve a medal.

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

'sokay Turtles and conflux, if you add -5q to both sides of 5q = 5q what do you get?

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

0=0

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

which is what I got. Great minds think alike LOL

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

Sorry. I just saw your final answer which was 10q=0. Great job.

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

Thanks

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

Your'e welcome.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you both!

OpenStudy (wolf1728):
