fan and medal!!!!

Choose the slope-intercept equation of the line that passes through the point (-2, 2) and is parallel to y = 4x + 7. y = 4x + 10 y = one fourthx + 5 halves y = -4x - 6 y = -one fourthx + 3 halves

OpenStudy (jonnyvonny):

First one

OpenStudy (jonnyvonny):

Want to know how to do it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (jonnyvonny):

Mmk, so, the ONLY way for something to be parallel to another function is for them to have the same slope

OpenStudy (anonymous):

https://www.khanacademy.org/library

OpenStudy (jonnyvonny):

Exactly the same; so if it was 4x, the parallel slope has to be 4x, if it was -8x, the parallel slope has to be -8x.

OpenStudy (jonnyvonny):

Just from that knowledge alone, only one answer fits

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks

OpenStudy (jonnyvonny):

Np bob, if you have any more questions, just pm. I feel bad for the mishap the other question

OpenStudy (jonnyvonny):

This'll make it easier|dw:1412366495115:dw| Only if they have the same slope, will they be parallel. They just start at different places.
