you have a gift card for your favorite clothing store for the amount of $60.00. You have found a shirt you want to buy that cost $15.00. If you dont want to spend more than the amount of the gift card, which of the following inequalities could be used to determine the amount you have left to spend ? A. x+15≥60 b. x-15≥ 60 c. x-15≤ 60 d. x+15≤ 60

thank you ^_^

OpenStudy (one098):

you're welcome

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Uh ohhh :O I think we run into trouble with that option. \(\Large\rm x+15\ge60\) Solving the inequality for `x`, `the amount left over`, gives us \(\Large\rm x\ge45\) So after spending 15 dollars he has AT LEAST 45 left over? I dunno, this question doesn't make sense :c There shouldn't be inequalities for any of these...

zepdrix (zepdrix):

So if you can only spend 60 dollars, I think we want the option that gives us 45 OR LESS after buying the 15 dollar batman costume. :p

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Ya I would go with D, But iiiii dunno :d weird stuff

OpenStudy (triciaal):

it would have to be option D the maximum is 60 what you have left, x + what you spend, 15 must be less than budget, 60

OpenStudy (triciaal):

@One098 I think you have mixed up the symbols you said less than 60 but used >

OpenStudy (one098):

yeah i did.. sorry.

OpenStudy (triciaal):

@One098 that's OK just need to slow down you also have 5 instead of 15 but that is not material. hope the person posting read all the posts.
