Determine whether the equation is always, sometimes, or never true. 6(x+1)=2(5+3x) 6x+6=10+6x pls help stuck on this

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

ok now combine terms get "x" on one side, constants on other

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i end up minusing 6 from both 6x and coming up with 0x

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

correct 0x = 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok then i had it right can you hel with one more thanks

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

this means 0=4 which is false right the equation is never true

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

0.5(x-3)-(1.5-x)=5x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know the answer will be 0 idk how to get to it tho

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

distribute ---> .5x -1.5 -1.5 +x = 5x combine terms --> 1.5x -3 = 5x --> 3.5x = -3 solve ---> x = -3/3.5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh its not 0 ok thx

OpenStudy (anonymous):

internet different sources told me 0

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

yeah unless equation is wrong....is answer supposed to be x=0 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes equation is wrong my bad its 0.5(x-3)+(1.5-x)=5x

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

haha big difference :) ok well can you distribute and combine terms on your own this time....follow my example

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks
