Can someone help me solve this? 20<15 1/2 + x

OpenStudy (141823):

is it 15 * 1/2 + x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have no clue!!! thanks for helping

OpenStudy (141823):

i'll try to solve it like that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks

OpenStudy (141823):

So first, we want to simplify as much as we can. 20<15*1/2+x 15 times 1/2 equals 7.5 20<7.5+x then, we have to get all our numbers on one end of the inequality, so we subtract 7.5 from both sides 20 - 7.5 = 12.5 7.5-7.5 = 0 12.5<x So, your final answer is 12.5 is less than x, or 12.5<x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you so much that helped a lot!!!! your amazing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oops!!! instead of 15 times one half it is suppose to be 15and a half sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you please try to help me again?!

OpenStudy (141823):

Oh sure, what is the problem

OpenStudy (141823):

oh, nvm i got it hold on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok and instead of 15 times a half it is 15 and a half

OpenStudy (141823):

20<15 1/2 + x So, we subtract 15 and 1/2 from 20 to get 4 1/2 4 1/2 < x Or you can write it as 4.5 < x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you!!!! i might need your help on 1 other problem

OpenStudy (141823):

Sure, I'm open to any problems

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks hold on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is 3-n>12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

never mind i figured it out thanks for all of your help

OpenStudy (141823):

Ah ok, no problem. good luck!
