What is the difference between a bug and a glitch?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@saifoo.khan please help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

All glitches are bugs, but not all bugs are glitches, I'd say

@abtster So, a bug is caused by bad coding (such as typos), but glitches are caused by a lack of coding?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ah sorry I'm not a native speaker and thought of a glitch as just a typo or so. But it is really computer jargon. It tuns out that glitches have a broader meaning than bug. Bug is a coding error, while a glitch is a system failure (maybe short or transient) see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glitch#Computer_glitch So bugs are Glitches, but not all glitches are bugs :-)
