y=-x^2-2x+3

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

What do you want us to do? Factor it? Solve for x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so if you are trying to factor follow me. Since the last sign is a plus sign and the first is negative, we know that both binomials will be negative. ------------- What helps me solve this is i think of it like this: What adds or subtracts to the coefficient (-2x) and multiplies to the constant (3)? So if you factor out (x - 3) (x - 1), you will get a un-reduced x^2 + x - 3x + 3 , then combine like terms x^2 - 2x + 3. So therefor your answer is (if you are factoring) (x - 3) (x - 1) or (x - 1) (x - 3)

Hope i helped!!

i thnk he want to know Y and x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is a quadratic equation. I can only assume that he/she needs to factor. If not then use substitution. to determine x or y.
