You have 26 cards, each labeled with a letter of the alphabet. What is the probability of drawing a card that contains one of the letters in the word 'MATH'? A) 1 676 B) 2 13 C) 2 26 D) 3 26

OpenStudy (friendzone):

btw @watup203 lol this next question after this is gonna be one hard one lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2/13

OpenStudy (friendzone):

lol let the others answer too

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

assuming that letters don't repeat, 2/13 is correct.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I agree

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

watup203, you are not supposed to be just handling out answers in such a manner.

OpenStudy (friendzone):

Since there is one mone a one "t" and one "h," and 1+1+1+1 is 4, the correct answer is 4 26 or 2 13

OpenStudy (anonymous):

my bad

OpenStudy (friendzone):

you could have did 4/26 too ;) thats why i wanted to wait for the rest lol

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

it's okay. I can't see who is new and who is not, because I have a bug, and all scores appear purple and red without any numbers in them.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

jus trying to make her talk to me lol

OpenStudy (friendzone):

gotta think outside the box and i know all the answers im putting up lol im just testing him @SolomonZelman

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

4/26 is correct as far as the proportions go. However, you have to REDUCE it to simplest terms.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i'll take 4/26 slices of pizza or 2/13 i'm not too bothered

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

At least, if your boss (in the future) asks you (even if you are not doing math for living, lets say you are working as an assistant of a doctor, or anything else) and he is asking you to find something, like "do you know how much that is?" You of course what to have a good impression on your boss, (and calculating it doesn't seem difficult to you), so you find the correct answer, (say it is) 15/25. And you say to him, 15/25. I bet that he will get disappointed that you didn't reduce it to 3/5.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i wouldn't be working for anyone who got disappointed about that
