In this one, you can skip the step of dotted or not dotted line, because they all have no dots. What you CAN do is see the way of the shading. The equations have >= (greater than or equal to) signs, so you can cross out option C and D because the shading is below. Now you have to choose A or B.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok is there any way to find if a or b

OpenStudy (secret-ninja):

in this case, you can use GeoGebra or the other website iGreen suggested. You graph the equations and get this:

OpenStudy (secret-ninja):

What do you think the answer is when you look at the graph?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A?

OpenStudy (secret-ninja):

You now notice that they are the SAME-EXCEPT the colors. What do you do? You have to know which line belongs to which equation. The line that passes through y=1 is line A, so the line B passes through y=3. This tells you that the area that they BOTH shade is supposed to be green. Your answer would be A. You are correct. :)

ok I am about to message you about something

Is it okay if you type it here? I am not a big fan of private messages.
