Someone check my answer for this problem? I just found a random image of a composite function so i can practice finding domain and range? I will post the picture. The answer i got is: D;[ 0,5 ] R: [1,5]
@amistre64
hello :D
Well which line are you looking at?
both
g(x) or f(x)
ok
im answering for g(f(x))
for f(g(x)) domain and range is [-4,4] and range is [-2,4]
The domain of a composite function is the more restrictive domain or the intersection of the domains.
so did i find it right?
Not quite, intersection of [0,6] and [-4,4] is [0,4].
The range is correct though.
for which one?
cause i followed this. http://openstudy.com/users/lordofpens#/updates/543f0ab3e4b0bad12946b988
For the first g(f(x)).
ok let me see check
i get [0.5] for the domain though
and to get the range, i plugged in [0,5] in f(x) and found the range of [-2,4] and i plugged this range into g(x) and got the range of [1,5]
Yeah f(5)=5 in [1,5]. You're right ! Checked the second, also correct.
@pgpilot326
can i have your input since you taught me how to do it as well :D?
