I need help with systems of equations...

OpenStudy (adamaero):

use substitution or elimination (and there are other methods for order three and higher)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its 3 x-2y+2z=8 3x+y-z=3 -x-3y+2z=6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have no idea how to solve any of it...

OpenStudy (pratyush5):

First add 1st and 3rd to get a relation in y and z. Then use any two to eliminate x. Then solve for y and z.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So add x-2y+2z=8 and -x-3y+2z=6?

OpenStudy (pratyush5):

Yes :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So is it -5y+4z=14 or is it y+4z=14?

OpenStudy (pratyush5):

OpenStudy (pratyush5):

The first one is right :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay thats what I got then what do I do from there?

OpenStudy (pratyush5):

So now for a second relation, multiply equation no 3rd by 3. Then add the eqn 2nd and 3rd

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What????
