Which of the following best explains why electrolyte solutions conduct electricity?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Electrolyte solutions conduct electricity because it dissociates into ions. For instance, when you put NaCl (salt) in water, it dissociates into Na+ and Cl- ions which conduct electricity. Whether a substance is a strong or weak electrolyte depends if the substance dissociates into ions completely or partially.
