Does anyone have any knowledge or could point me in the right direction in regard to learning about "Scene Recognition" Mathematical Concepts?
First off, what does scene recognition mean to you?
Lets say you get on a subway and there are several mean looking people. What would you do? I would go away. So I recognized a dangerous scene and responded. So in computer science you would want the computer to be able to recognize things. in the same way humans do; so that way you could do that is using math.

The first thing was supposed to be a tree. lol Anyways you can use math to have the computer try to differentiate between a tree and a human.
Also If you Google it you can find a bunch of interesting things about robots and such.
@e.mccormick might have somewhat knowledge on this.
e gads, the Mod of Christmas Past has suddenly showed up for a few seconds.
People come and go, just like that. :'[
Anyhow, there are a ton of papers on it. http://scholar.google.com/scholar?q=scene+recognition+math Might even have a book on some of the concepts, though I have not gone into it. It was a free one from an educational distribution site and I have not gone into it yet, but I remember it was on the math of objects, though I think it was more on making than recognizing.
Yes, there are heaps of papers on it, its just a matter of researching in the hope that you will find what you are after. This stuff has intrigued me.
It is one of the major concepts in things like the Google car. How do you make a vehicle "aware" of the surroundings enough to be safe to ride in while it drives?
Ha, that's it. =]
