FAN AND MEDAL Where is a rift valley most likely to occur? A. at a convergent boundary between an oceanic plate and a continental plate B. at a divergent boundary in an oceanic plate C. at a divergent boundary in a continental plate D. at a convergent boundary between two continental plates

@anyone?
A rift valley is a large elongated depression with steep walls formed by the downward displacement of a block of the earth's surface between nearly parallel faults or fault systems. Aka, a cliff. Does this clear things up a bit?
not really... :(
In plate tectonics, a convergent boundary, also known as a destructive plate boundary (because of subduction), is an actively deforming region where two (or more) tectonic plates or fragments of the lithosphere move toward one another and collide. AKA moving together. In plate tectonics, a divergent boundary or divergent plate boundary (also known as a constructive boundary or an extensional boundary) is a linear feature that exists between two tectonic plates that are moving away from each other. AKA moving apart. A cliff is basically a huge hole...
Do you get where I'm going with this?
is it D?
It is on the Earth's SURFACE, and is a DOWNWARD displacement. No matter where you are on Earth, if you dig deep enough you'll come across?..... Water! Do you want to guess the answer now?
so A?
Convergent is moving together. Divergent is coming apart. a cliff is apart from the other side, so it can't be A or D.
You're getting closer...
oh ok, B
or C
yep, its C! good job! :D
